The Frog

The frog is a small amphibian of the genusAnura . It has to have a constantly moist skin and so does not occur in the drier areas and never lives far from water. It also is cold blooded and so has to sit in the sun to warm itself up. Because of this it does not live in the colder areas of the world. THe average frog has a lifespan of roughly 3 years. They are capable of reproduction after 2 months. The average frog lays a cultch of 200-500 eggs. THe eggs are layed in a gelatinous substance to protect them. THey are also layed in water. The frog when it hatches vary unlike the adult and vary much like a fish. They then go through a process called metomorphasis in which thwey lose there tails and grow legs. While they are insectivourous the larger members of the species are known to eat small birds and mammals
